Itinerary - Monti Sibillini - Walking & Cooking Holiday
Enjoying the food, wine and company

Sunday
(Arrival day)
You are met by a Terracotta Trails member of staff at either Rome Fiumicino or Rome Ciampino airport between 10:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. The group assembles for lunch at the Hilton Hotel at Fiumicino. For those arriving at Rome Ciampino, we will provide a coach to transfer you to the Hilton. We set off after lunch at approximately 3:30p.m. for the Umbrian countryside and your host hotel. Upon arrival, after giving you time to settle into your rooms, we will show you around the hotel and its grounds before inviting you to enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Throughout the week you can decide whether you would
like to take part in the walking or the cooking !

The full day walks take place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Local products

Cooking sessions will take place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, for two to three hours in the morning and another session in the afternoon. The sessions will be in the hotel and will cover the main aspects of Umbrian cuisine, using local products such as truffles, lentils, sausages, cured meats, as well as vegetarian starters and delicious home made bread and pizzas. All enjoyed with wine and the jovial, knowlegeable presence of the chef, Emmanuele.

Hotel restaurant, bar and pool

Tuesday
morning is a chance for the whole group to do a relaxed and refreshing walk, following a nearby river to a lovely waterfall. A typical Umbrian lunch is enjoyed by everyone in the delightful vineyard of Sportoletti, near Assisi, accompanied by tastings of the red and white wines produced in-house.

Thursday is a free day where those who want to visit the nearby town of Spoleto can do so on the included coach. For a little relaxation, the hotel grounds offer a pool with superb views, or a game of tennis. (Today lunch and dinner are not included)

Picnic lunches are provided for those taking part in the full day walks, and in the restaurant for those doing the cooking (except on the free day when lunch is not included). Dinner, with wine and water, takes place in the hotel restaurant every evening, other than on the free day (when dinner is not included) and on Wednesday when it takes place in the local slow-food restaurant, "Il Castoro".
