Itinerary - Monti Sibillini - Walking Holiday
   
Preci at dusk Sunday (Arrival day)
You are met by a Terracotta Trails member of staff at either Rome Fiumicino or Rome Ciampino airport between 10:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. The group assembles for lunch at the Hilton Hotel at Fiumicino. For those arriving at Rome Ciampino, we will provide a coach to transfer you to the Hilton. We set off after lunch at approximately 3:30p.m. for the Umbrian countryside and your host hotel. Upon arrival, after giving you time to settle into your rooms, we will show you around the hotel and its grounds before inviting you to enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Monday (Preci walk)
This first day allows you to get to know the surrounding area as we walk into the picturesque neighbouring villages of Preci, Roccanolfi and Corone. We walk back to the hotel by mid afternoon for a chance to enjoy the pool and relax.

Norcia, main Piazza Tuesday (Norcia walk)
Today takes us to the beautiful Abbazia di San Eutizio, cradle of the Benedictine movement. We then walk to the walled town of Norcia where there is a chance to have a stroll, have a drink or a home made Italian ice-cream before being driven back to the hotel.

Walking on Monte Moricone, Wednesday walk Wednesday (Monte Moricone walk)
This walk takes us above Castelvecchio, into the village of Saccovescio where we follow a track leading to the higher plains of Monte Moricone. We then walk down into Collescille which commands impressive views over the Preci valley before making our way back to the hotel.

Thursday (Free day)
Breakfast at the hotel
A day to relax by the pool, play tennis, sunbathe, go for a stroll by yourselves or join the trip into Spoleto where you can wander along the narrow cobbled streets, admire Roman remains, do a spot of shopping and sightseeing and have lunch in one of the plentiful restaurants.
In the afternoon the coach will return from Spoleto to the hotel.
Dinner is not included tonight; however, the hotel restaurant is open for those wishing to order something from the menu.
 
View over the Valnerina Friday (Fematre walk)
Today we walk into the impressive Valnerina, the “little valley of the Nera” and up into a wilderness that few people see other than herdsmen and shepherds. We get magnificent views over the rolling western hills of Umbria.
A coach will take us back to the hotel

Poppies on the Piano Grande in the spring Saturday (Piano Grande walk)
Commencing our walk in Campi Vecchio, we walk to the awe-inspiring Piano Grande along a path with stunning views over Norcia and the Preci valley. Finishing this walk in the village of Castelluccio on the Piano Grande, we have the opportunity to admire magnificent views before the coach picks us up.

After an early breakfast, we set off to Rome to drop you off at Ciampino and Fiumicino airports for departures from midday onwards.
